UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 883-1 in Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish
(UPDATE 1/25/2024): LA 883-1 in Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish has been REOPENED.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, LA 883-1 at the railroad crossing in Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish is closed due to a train derailment.
This railroad crossing is located just east of the intersection with LA 134 (see included map).
Currently, there is no timeline on reopening the roadway. The railroad company is on site beginning the clean-up process.
DOTD will issue additional information when it becomes available.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to detour.
