****NOW OPEN: LA 542 in Jackson Parish****
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, November, 28, 2023, LA 542 will be closed to thru traffic approximately 3.2 miles east of its intersection with US 167 in Jackson Parish. This road closure is necessary to allow for the replacement of drainage culverts.
The LA 542 road closure is anticipated to last 1 week, and should be reopened Sunday, December 3, 2023.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour:
The detour route will be LA 811, US 167, LA 813 and LA 542.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
