UPDATE 11/20/2023: Old Sterlington Road is now open to traffic.

The City of Monroe and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning 7:00 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, Old Sterlington Road will be closed to through traffic between Bon Aire Drive and Paige Drive. This closure is required to construct the new roadway and turn lanes for the project.
The extent of this closure is anticipated to take approximately ninety days.
Restrictions: No restrictions noted. The roadway will be closed to through traffic.
Detour: Detour route has been established using US Highway 165 and Fink’s Hide-A-Way Road.
Safety Reminder: The City of Monroe and DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
The City of Monroe and DOTD reminds motorists that it is unsafe and unlawful to drive onto a closed road past a “road closed” barricade at any time for any reason.
