Beauregard Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that Phase 1 repairs to the Bundick Lake drawdown structure are nearing completion. As of Tuesday, October 3, in the afternoon, crews have closed the drawdown gate. This will allow Bundick Lake to refill and begin returning to pool stage.

C.E.C. Inc. is currently finishing work on the secondary screen, with plans to replace the interior ladder rung, install the trash rack and test the dewatering plate. Crews are scheduled to start removing the coffer dam, starting Thursday, Sept. 28, with work expected to continue into Friday, Sept. 29. Crews will spend most of Friday cleaning and removing material from the site.

Phase 2 is anticipated to start in early 2024 and can be completed without drawdown. Work includes reinstalling the dewatering plate, which will allow C.E.C. to remove and replace the sluice gate without having to drain the lake. Crews will install cable with buoys as the lake level rises. New signage will also be installed at the drawdown outflow structure and the spillway.
