$78.9 million infrastructure investment along I-10 in Acadia and Lafayette Parish slated to start in October

ACADIA & LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, October 16, construction will begin on a $78.9 million dollar project that will include a 37.2-mile section of I-10 from the Jefferson Davis parish line to I-49.

The project will include clearing and grubbing, milling concrete and asphalt pavement, class II base course, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, open grade friction course (OGFC) asphalt overlay, guardrail and related work.

Construction work is expected to take place during the following times throughout the week, weather permitting:

Sunday – Thursday: 8pm – 6am
Friday: 9pm – 9am
Saturday: 9am – 8pm

Drivers can expect alternating lane closures throughout the project. The lane closures are required to perform pavement patching, milling, asphalt concrete overlay and guardrail operations within the roadway.

There will be a 14 foot width restrictions throughout the project during the above mentioned work hours. Emergency vehicles will have access to the areas but may encounter delays.

The project is estimated to be completed by spring 2025.
