***UPDATE***Ellender Bridge on LA 27 now OPEN to vehicle traffic. Remains closed for marine traffic – Calcasieu Parish
The Ellender Bridge is now OPEN more vehicle traffic only. It is still closed for marine traffic.
Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the Ellender Bridge on LA 27 is closed to vehicle and marine traffic because of a power outage.
Crews are working to get the bridge operable. DOTD will issue an updated notice once the issue is resolved.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
