EXTENDED! Front Street between St. Clair Street & Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, St. Mary Parish, Road Closure

UPDATE: THIS CLOSURE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2023, WEATHER PERMITTING.
Front Street between St. Clair Street and the eastbound lane of Brashear Avenue will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, September 11, and ending Wednesday, November 8, weather permitting.
Additionally, Brashear Avenue westbound from First Street to Front Street will be closed to through traffic during this timeframe.
This closure is necessary for crews to demolish the concrete, do steel repairs and install the bottom form to construct the new deck on the deck truss span of the LA 182 bridge over the Atchafalaya River.
The road will be open to local traffic only from St. Clair Street to north of the westbound lane of Brashear Avenue. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the entire area.
Detour route will consist of St. Clair Street, First Street, Brashear Avenue eastbound, and Freret Street.
