UPDATE: US 165 in Morehouse Parish; Lane Shifts H.000665

UPDATE (7/21/2026): The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists traveling South on US 165 from Bonita, Louisiana that they will experience a lane shift onto the new US 165 roadway alignment beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Motorists traveling North on US 165 towards Bonita will remain using the northbound temporary diversion road until construction is complete on the new US 165 northbound lane.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists traveling US 165 in Morehouse Parish near Bonita, Louisiana that they will experience lane shifts onto temporary diversion roads along US 165 beginning Monday, October, 27, 2025. The lane shifts onto temporary diversion roads will begin at the intersection of US 165 and R.L. Thomas Road and continue 0.50 miles northeast of the US 165 and Bonne Idee Road intersection. These lane shifts onto diversion roads are required as part of the US 165 roadway realignment for the new Union Pacific Railroad Overpass located southwest of Bonita, Louisiana. The lane shifts are expected to be in service until September of 2026, weather permitting.

Permit/Detour
Restrictions: There are no restrictions to traffic at this time.
Detours: Formal detour routes are not required at this time. US 165 will be open to all traffic.
