St. Charles Parish, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), in coordination with St. Charles Parish, announces that beginning Monday, August 14, 2023, construction will start on a $10.9 million major reconstruction project on LA 52 (Paul Maillard Rd.).
The project includes adding sidewalks, subsurface drainage, replacing water and sewer lines, and a complete top-level roadway resurfacing between Blueberry Hill St. and Angus Dr.
Lane closures will be required to perform the work, so the public should be prepared for delays. Permanent lane closures will be needed to widen the street and complete underground utility work; therefore, traffic will only be allowed northbound between Blueberry Hill St. and Angus Dr.
Starting August 14, traffic can only travel northbound on LA 52 from Blueberry Hill St. to Angus Drive (driving toward River Rd., LA 18). DOTD has detour signs directing southbound traffic onto I-310 South to US 90.
The project is estimated to be completed in Fall 2024.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive cautiously through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
