The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Gillis William Long Bridge (often referred to as the Jackson St. Bridge) will be closed to all traffic, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM, weather permitting. The closure is to replace the traffic control arms for raising and lowering the bridge.
Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
