Belle Chasse Bridge & Tunnel Project: Engineers Rd. Closure & Detour (8/10-14)

BELLE CHASSE, LA - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces an upcoming partial closure and detour around southbound Engineers Rd at LA 23.
The closure and detour are scheduled to begin Thursday, August 10, 2023, and end Monday, August 14, 2023. This is necessary to maintain public safety while work is being done to install new drainage.
During this work, motorists will be unable to travel through Engineers Rd from southbound LA 23. Motorists wishing to access the closed area of Engineers Rd. will need to utilize the detour, which routes traffic to Lapalco Blvd, through Wall Blvd., and over to Harvey Blvd. LA 23 will maintain normal traffic flow during this work.
