Update: Belle Chasse Bridge: Traffic Disruption at Burmaster St. and LA 23 Intersection

UPDATE: 1:45 PM, Thursday, July 27, 2023: The disruption has been lifted and all regular traffic has been restored.
BELLE CHASSE, LA. - At 4am on 7/27/23 a pothole was discovered in the Burmaster intersection of LA 23. The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project has instituted emergency repair procedures, including closing the southbound left turn into Burmaster Street and closing the northbound travel lane on LA 23 to correct this issue. Crews are currently on site and updates will follow.
