The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, July, 31, 2023, LA 544 will be closed to thru traffic.
This bridge is located approximately 1.3 miles west of its intersection with LA 563, north of Simsboro, in Lincoln Parish.
This bridge closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance.
The LA 544 bridge closure is anticipated to last 1 week, and should be reopened Friday, August 4, 2023.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
PERMIT/DETOUR:
The detour route will be LA 544, LA 151, LA 146 and LA 563.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
