The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), in coordination with the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office and the Federal Highway Administration, has commissioned a project to study historic bridges that are on the DOTD inventory and to develop a process to manage and preserve these valued resources.

Mead & Hunt, a national consulting firm that specializes in historic bridges, will assist in the preparation of the Historic Bridge Inventory. A public presentation is currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2012 – 7:00pm, Lafayette Parish South Side Library, 6101 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503.
