LANE CLOSURES: US 171 southbound in south Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to repair a section of US 171 (Mansfield Road) in south Caddo Parish.

The $10 million project will provide a patch, mill and overlay from the Caddo Parish line to LA 3132 in Shreveport, a nearly 9 mile stretch of roadway.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 19, 2023, with intermittent lane closures on US 171 southbound. Northbound lane closures will come at a later date when work progresses to that direction. DOTD will issue further information at that time.

The intermittent southbound lane closures are anticipated to be in place for approximately two months.

The entire project is expected to be complete in early 2024, with progress dependent on weather and other factors that may impact construction timelines.

Restrictions/Permits: 11 foot wide lanes. Wider vehicles will need to detour.

Alternate Route: N/A

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
