Daily closure: W. McNeese Street at intersection of LA 1138-2 (Nelson Road) to 500 feet East and West: June 10-11, 2023, – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that West McNeese Street at its intersection with LA 1138-2 (Nelson Road) to 500 feet east will be closed from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023.
West McNeese Street at the Nelson Road intersection to 500 feet west will be closed from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Access to these segments of West McNeese Street will be prohibited during these hours.
All closures are weather permitting.
Detour routes:
Traffic may detour via local streets and the following state routes: LA 1138-2 (Nelson Road), LA 384 (Country Club Road), LA 385 (Ryan Street), and Interstate 210.
The closures are necessary for crews to install new pavement markings along this section of roadway. This is a joint project between DOTD and the City of Lake Charles.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
