The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorist that the traffic signal located at the intersection of US 61 (Airline) and East Industrial / Lanier Drive will be reconfigured and placed in flash on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. The traffic signal will flash amber for the US 61 (Airline) approaches and red for both East Industrial Avenue and Lanier Drive. Additionally, drivers exiting East Industrial Avenue and Lanier Drive will be required to turn right when entering US 61 (Airline). Drivers are reminded that State law requires vehicles to come to a complete stop at a flashing red signal and to continue through the intersection with caution on approach to a flashing amber signal. This modification to the intersection is required for further evaluation to permanently remove the traffic signal.
