UPDATE: The Toomey Rest Area along Interstate 10 Eastbound has been reopened.

Calcasieu Parish -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, starting immediately, the Toomey Rest Area along Interstate 10 Eastbound will be closed to the public until further notice because of a water outage.
DOTD will issue an update once the rest area is opened.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
