NOW OPEN: LA 599 north of Mer Rouge in Morehouse Parish

*****UPDATE: LA 599 NORTH OF MER ROUGE HAS BEEN REOPENED TO TRAFFIC.*****
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, February, 28, 2023, LA 599 will be closed to thru traffic.
This bridge is located approximately 3.2 miles east of its intersection with US 165, north of Mer Rouge, in Morehouse Parish.
This bridge closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance.
The LA 599 bridge closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be reopened Friday, March 10, 2023.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour:
The detour route will be LA 599 and US 165.
