LA 23 Traffic Shift Extension in Belle Chasse

Belle Chasse - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the extension of the traffic switch on southbound LA 23 in Belle Chasse. The switch will be extended through January 20, 2023. Motorists traveling southbound between Timber Ridge Street and Engineers Road will be shifted to the right onto the newly constructed Algiers Outfall Canal Bridge and southbound LA 23 roadway.
During this timeframe, there will be intermittent lane closures at night. However, no lane closures will take place during the holidays between December 23, 2022, through December 26, 2022, and December 30, 2022, through January 2, 2023. All work is weather permitting and is in preparation for the new Belle Chasse Bridge.
