POSTPONED: DOTD to host DBE networking event December 14

The DOTD DBE Business Opportunity Event that was scheduled for this evening will be postponed until a later date.
Baton Rouge- On Wednesday, December 14, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program will host a networking event aimed at introducing businesses with prime contractors and others in the transportation industry.
This business summit will bring together DBEs in the transportation and related industries with prime contractors to provide an opportunity for sub-contractors to meet contractors and establish relationships prior to lettings.
This business event will include remarks from DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Small Business Administration Region VI Administrator Ted James, Federal Highway Administration Equal Opportunity Specialist Charles Harkless and Louisiana Associated General Contractors CEO Ken Naquin.
Following remarks, there will be a presentation on the DBE certification process and how to conduct business with DOTD, as well as information on DOTD’s Electric Vehicle program. Secretary Wilson will also give out awards to prime contractors who exceeded their DBE participation goals for 2020 and 2021.
