DOTD announces upcoming safety project on various routes in Lafayette Parish

LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning October 30, 2022, work will begin on a $316,490.50 project to install new roadway safety enhancements on various routes in Lafayette Parish. Work includes high friction surface treatments, permanent signs, and pavement markings within curves.
This project includes the following routes:
- West Congress St near Lagneaux Rd.
- Denais Rd.
- Martin Luther King
- Vincent Rd.
- Bonin Rd.
- Heidi Circle
- Renaud Dr. near Elmira Rd.
- L Provost Rd.
- Le Violon Rd. near Landry Rd.
Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be necessary to perform the work in each area. Drivers should expect some delays.
The project is estimated for completion in January 2023.
