Iberville Parish- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that work will resume on the LA 75 Bayou Breaux Bridge project beginning Thursday, October 27. Contractors will begin performing pile-driving operations to construct a new bridge over Bayou Breaux in Iberville Parish.

In order to continue construction on the structure, the temporary diversion road that was open for through traffic in August will be closed to the traveling public. A signed detour is in place in order for motorists to access LA 75 by traveling LA 74 to LA 30 to LA 3115.

In December 2021, the bridge was fully closed to allow the contractor to remove and replace the existing bridge. The project was originally anticipated to be completed in summer 2022, however, delays occurred due to a cracked piling that occurred during driving operations, resulting in a redesign of the plans to determine the new placement for the piles.

This project is anticipated to be completed Summer 2023, weather permitting.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through construction sites, and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
