IBERIA PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, September 26, construction will begin on a $3.6 million project on La. 676 from Jefferson Island Rd. to La. 14 in Iberia Parish.
The project will include new asphalt pavement, stabilized base course, drainage structures, signing, striping, guard rail, and related work.
Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Road closures and alternating lanes closures are expected.
During road closures, La. 676 will only be open to local traffic. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the entire area during road closures.
During lane closures, and when the road is not closed, the road will be open to regular traffic with a 10-foot wide maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone. The existing 25 to 40 ton maximum weight restriction will remain on oversized loads. Emergency vehicles will have access to this area during lane closures.
The project is estimated for completion by February 2023.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
