UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 134 from LA 139 to LA 136, Ouachita Parish


UPDATE 8:00 PM 9/4/2022: All sections of LA 134 are now back open to traffic. Please travel safely.

UPDATE 12:00 PM 8/28/2022
: LA 134 continues to remain closed in one area due to high water.

The area approximately 0.3 miles west from LA 139 which was one-lane traffic is now closed and DOTD is starting on repairs this week.


The section of LA 134 between Brook Orchard Road and Curtis Road has been reopened and the bridge approximately 0.8 miles east of Swartz Fairbanks Road on LA 134 has been reopened.

UPDATE 4:00 PM 8/26/2022: LA 134 continues to remain closed in several areas due to high water. The first area of LA 134 closure is between Brook Orchard Road and Curtis Road. This area is approximately 0.6 miles from the LA 134 and LA 136 intersection.

The second closure is the bridge approximately 0.8 miles east of Swartz Fairbanks Road on LA 134.

The third area is approximately 0.3 miles from LA 139. This area has been reduced to one-lane traffic.

ORIGINAL 1:00 PM 8/25/2022: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, LA 134 from LA 139 to LA 136 near the Town of Sterlington in Ouachita Parish is CLOSED due to high water as a result of heavy rainfall in the area.

DOTD will issue a notification when water has receded and roadway is safe for travel.

DOTD reminds motorists that is extremely unsafe and unlawful to drive around a ‘road closed’ barricade for any reason.
