UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 518 over Black Lake Bayou, Claiborne Parish


(UPDATE 9/14/2022): The LA 518 bridge over Black Lake Bayou in Claiborne Parish has been REOPENED. We appreciate your patience.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Monday, August 29, 2022, the LA 518 bridge over Black Lake Bayou in Claiborne Parish will be closed.

This closure is necessary to allow DOTD bridge crews to perform repairs to the structure.

This bridge is located approximately 2.73 miles east of the intersection with US 71.

Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

Permits/Restrictions: Total bridge closure. All vehicles will need to detour.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
