UPDATE to EMERGENCY CLOSURE: H.013191, LA 1: LA 75 - Port Allen Canal Bridge

EMERGENCY CLOSURE on LA 1, Plaquemine
Effective immediately, the left lane Southbound of LA 1, between LA 77 and Meriam Street in Plaquemine, will be shut down to traffic until further notice. The right lane shall remain open.
This closure is needed for repairs to the roadway due to a sinkhole that has formed at the above location. This was caused by a leaking sewer pipe. It is expected that temporary repairs will happen tonight, August 23rd, and that the lane will re-open tomorrow morning, Wednesday, August 24th. The lane will likely close again on Saturday, August 27th, when permanent repairs should happen, and the lane should re-open later that day.
Permit load restrictions during these closures will be up to 12 feet wide, and no heavy loads; anything over, please contact the Permit office.
