Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:14:47 AM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Announces that the interchange of Interstate 10 and LA 99 in Welsh will have daytime closures, starting Monday, Aug. 29.

The closures will occur during daytime working hours and will be weather dependent. They are necessary for slope repair.

Crews will stablize the foreslope of the embankment using soil nails with a reinforced shotcrete facing. Other work includes excavating the existing embankment material to install the soil nails, installing horizontal drains, construction of the shotcrete wall facing, placement of limestone rip-rap along the base of the wall, installation of grouted columns into the embankment below the wall, new guardrail, final grading, dressing, and seeding of the slope.

Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
