NOW OPEN: LA 599 north of Mer Rouge in Morehouse Parish

*****UPDATE: LA 599 NORTH OF MER ROUGE HAS BEEN REOPENED TO TRAFFIC.*****
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, LA 599 north of Mer Rouge in Morehouse Parish, will be closed approximately 3.15 miles east of US 165 to make necessary bridge repairs.
The bridge repairs are anticipated to be complete Friday, April 22, 2022.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour
The detour route will be LA 599 and US 165.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
