I-49 UPRR Overpass Repair Alternating Lane Closures
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that beginning on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 7:00 am, weather permitting, I-49 Southbound at LA 3250 (Sugarhouse Road) will have daytime alternating lane closures. The closures are needed to make repairs on the Sugarhouse overpass over I-49 that was damaged. These lane closures are expected to last until Friday, March 25th, 2022 at 6:00 P.M.
Permit/Detour section
There are no detours at this time associated with the lane closures.
There will be a Lane Width restriction of 11 feet for the lane closures.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
