CALCASIEU PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that beginning March 16, 2022, construction will begin on a $4.9 million overlay project on a 4.99-mile section of La. 27 and La. 108 from La. 1256 to Interstate 10 in Calcasieu Parish.

The project will include milling, patching, resurfacing and related work.

Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

The road will be reduced to one lane in each direction throughout the work zone. Additionally, the road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

Motorists traveling in this area should anticipate some delays. Although no detour is needed, alternate routes for this project include La. 1256 and La. 27.

Emergency vehicles will have access to this area.

The project is estimated for completion in fall 2022.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
