*****UPDATE: LA 603 SOUTH OF TALLULAH HAS BEEN REOPENED TO TRAFFIC.*****
UPDATE (06/25/2021): Due to weather and maintenance delays, the Harper Bayou Bridge closure on LA 603 will be extended until Friday, July 30, 2021.
BRIDGE CLOSURE The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, June 7, 2021, the Harper Bayou Bridge on LA 603 in Madison Parish near Afton, will be closed approximately 5 miles east of US 65 to make necessary bridge repairs.
The bridge repairs are anticipated to be complete Friday, July 2, 2021.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour The detour route will be LA 603 and US 65.
Safety reminder DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
