The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that Bridge Number 0520500001 (Simmesport Bridge) will undergo in-depth bridge inspection from Monday, May 3, 2021 through Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Alternating lane closures will be in effect, with flaggers, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day.
This bridge inspection is part of normal processes required to insure the continued safe operation of this bridge.
This structure is on LA 1 over the Atchafalaya River at Simmesport, LA and is located at log mile 0.00. Bridge is located 0.18 miles east of the LA 1/LA 105 intersection on the Avoyelles and Point Coupee Parish line.
Permit/Detour section
Bridge will be reduced to one 12-foot lane with flagmen directing traffic. Please no wide loads.
