Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that seven projects around the state were let on March 10, 2021. Seven contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $17.1 million.
“We have a small list of projects for the March letting, but it includes some important infrastructure improvements throughout the state,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “The department is proud to invest in a diverse group of projects, including paving, lane markings, bicycle paths, and a bridge replacement, for travelers across Louisiana.”
The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:
Bridge Replacement and Repair:
- Replacement of Bayou Crab Road Bridge in Assumption Parish: $688,281.46
Pavement/ Overlay:
- Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on U.S. 61 between Bluebonnet Blvd. and U.S. 190 in East Baton Rouge Parish: $3,257,623.55
- Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 6 between LA 504 and LA 1 in Natchitoches Parish: $3,595,727.47
- Grading, milling, patching, and overlay on I-10 ramps at Butte La Rose in St. Martin Parish: $1,468,550.37
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 500 between Grant Parish line and U.S. 84 in LaSalle Parish: $4,302,272.09
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
- Rumble strips, reflectors, and striping on various routes in Acadia, Evangeline, Lafayette, and St. Landry parishes: $3,299,781.75
Other:
- Bikeways along LA 1245, LA 39, LA 46, LA 47, and various other routes in St. Bernard Parish: $485,400.35
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
