Bonnet Carre Spillway closure

The Bonnet Carre Spillway has been closed in both directions due to multiple accidents.
Eastbound I-10 is being diverted to U.S. 51. Westbound I-10 is being redirected to I-310.
Interstate 10 will be re-opened when the accidents have been cleared. Expect heavy delays.
DOTD reminds drivers to be more aware during hazardous conditions:
• Wear seatbelt
• Don’t drive distracted
• Use low beams
• Don’t use cruise control
• Only drive if you must
