DOTD announces start of construction project on La. 94 in Lafayette and St. Martin parish

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning December 7, 2020, construction will begin on a $3 million project to resurface La. 94 (Carmel Dr./West Mills Ave.) from La. 353 (Lake Martin Rd./Prairie Hwy.) to La. 328 (Rees St.) in Breaux Bridge.
The project will include new drainage structures, pavement patching, milling asphaltic concrete, base stabilization, asphalt overlay, rumble strips, striping, and related work.
Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Work outside of the roadway travel lanes will be performed during the day, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., while work within the travel lanes is expected to take place at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
There will be intermittent nightly lane closures throughout the project to perform the work. Drivers should expect delays.
The project is estimated for completion in fall 2021.
