Upcoming I-10 EB traffic shift at the LA 108 interchange in Calcasieu Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that motorists can expect a traffic shift on I-10 eastbound at the LA 108 interchange during the evening of Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Two lanes of I-10 eastbound traffic will shift to the service road at the LA 108 interchange. The service road has been widened to accommodate two lanes. This will allow the contractor to reconstruct the concrete sections of the interstate at LA 108 as well as complete the reconstruction of the I-10 eastbound Maple Fork Bridge.

The contractor has replaced the southern portion of both Maple Fork bridges, installed the eastbound concrete barrier at LA 108, installed a portion of the eastbound auxiliary lane. Crews continue installing rebar for the median barrier, pouring foundations for overhead signs as well as laying asphalt at the westbound bridge and completing widening of the inside portions of I-10 eastbound and westbound.

All dates and activity are weather dependent. The entire project is expected to be complete in Fall 2021.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with extreme caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment
