DOTD provides update on the LA 27 bridge replacements in Calcasieu Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the northernmost bridge on LA 27 (Beglis Parkway) between East Moss Lane and Sunny Wood Drive has reopened. Crews have completed the replacement of the northernmost bridge’s deck, and will now begin construction on southernmost bridge between Sunny Wood Drive and Ravia Road. The southernmost bridge has closed in anticipation of work.
The project includes the removal and replacement of both bridge decks and the installation of guardrail and permanent pavement markings. The entire project is expected to be complete in late 2020. All progress is dependent on weather.
Motorists may continue to use I-10, LA 1256, and LA 108 to detour as shown in the graphic below. Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be posted on LA 27 to advise drivers of the closure and the detour.
