Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 13 projects around the state were let on September 23, 2020. Ten contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $45.7 million.
“We’re pleased to offer our residents and visitors several more projects to make their traveling much smoother,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “A notable project is the rehabilitation of U.S. 190 between Opelousas and Port Barre, a heavily traveled corridor that has been in need of attention for some time now.”
The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:
Bridge Replacement and Repair:
- Replacement of Bayou Vermilion Bridge on LA 1252 in Lafayette Parish: $3,801,962.85
Pavement/ Overlay:
- Milling, patching, paving, and drainage on U.S. 190 between Wallior Street and LA 742 in St. Landry Parish: $9,810,340.16
- Grading, milling, patching, overlay, traffic signalization, and drainage on LA 182 between Church Street and U.S. 167 in St. Landry Parish: $3,456,161.85
- Patching on LA 175 between Sabine Parish line and LA 346 in DeSoto Parish: $724,128.54
- Patching on LA 112 between U.S. 165 and I-49 in Rapides Parish: $990,482.77
- Grading, milling, patching, paving, overlay, and traffic signalization on LA 46 between LA 39 and St. Bernard Parish Line in Orleans Parish: $7,598,943.08
- Milling, patching, overlay, and paving of U.S. 90 between LA 308 and 2.5 miles east of LA 182 in Lafourche Parish: $4,920,702.17
- Patching and paving on LA 73 between LA 3064 and LA 426 in East Baton Rouge Parish: $1,738,425.37
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 63 between LA 442 and LA 449 in Livingston Parish: $2,054,829.70
- Approach slab leveling on LA 20, LA 24, LA 3087, and LA 315 in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes: $1,135,310.65
- Grading, milling, overlay, and drainage on Tanglewood Drive between LA 15 and Dellwood Drive in Ouachita Parish: $485,502.00
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
- Extension of LA 124 and improvements to LA 3102 in Catahoula Parish: $8,135,741.74
Other:
- Drydocking, inspection, repairs, and paint of M/V Pointe-a-la-Hache in Plaquemines Parish: $808,689.00
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
