The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the Section Line Road Bridge Replacement Project on Monday, September 21, 2020 and will continue for approximately (6) six months. This bridge replacement project is located on Section Line Road over Bayou Castor, which is approximately 1.7 miles west of the intersection with US 171 and 0.8 miles east of the intersection with LA 1211. This 0.167 mile long bridge replacement project will receive clearing and grubbing, removal of bridge, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, concrete slab span bridge, precast concrete piles and related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Merrick, LLC in the amount of $1,168,095.83.
Permit/Detour Section
The contractor will begin clearing and grubbing on Monday, September 21, 2020. The roadway will remain open to all local and through traffic for the duration of the project with the current width and weight restrictions on the existing bridge.
