Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 16 projects around the state were recently bid upon. Thirteen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $29.1 million.
“This letting starts several much-needed overlay projects around the state,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “We’re also thrilled to continue implementing various measures to keep our motorists safe, most notably flashing yellow arrows throughout the Baton Rouge region.”
The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:
Bridge Replacement and Repair:
- Replacement of Colvin Creek Bridge on LA 3072 in Lincoln Parish: $1,333,110.85
- Replacement of Castor Plunge, H Strange, and Palmer Chapel bridges in Rapides Parish: $1,819,991.20
Pavement/ Overlay:
- Grading, milling, patching, overlay, paving, traffic signalization, and drainage on LA 31 and LA 94 between LA 353 and LA 328 in Lafayette Parish: $2,987,840.99
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 582 between LA 17 and East Carroll Parish line in East Carroll and West Carroll parishes: $2,710,454.00
- Grading, milling, patching, paving, and drainage on LA 529 between LA 160 and LA 2 in Bossier Parish: $2,875,192.04
- Milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 851 between LA 126 and LA 849 in Caldwell Parish: $1,352,358.35
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 754 between LA 95 and St. Landry Parish line in Acadia Parish: $1,524,968.13
- Milling and patching on LA 111 between LA 8 and John Keel Loop in Vernon Parish: $543,857.55
- Grading, milling, paving, and drainage on Coleman Street in Bossier Parish: $2,088,870.82
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on Harrell Road between U.S. 80 and Arkansas Road in Ouachita Parish: $1,430,955.75
- Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 1035 and LA 3283 in Livingston Parish: $609,128.89
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
- Roundabout installation on U.S. 425 at Julia and Louisa in Richland Parish: $4,380,975.75
- Right turn lane on LA 3154 at Dock Street in Jefferson Parish: $324,734.75
- Flashing yellow arrow installation throughout Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, St. James, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes: $3,845,471.58
- Pavement markings on I-10 on Twin Spans Bridge in Orleans Parish: $457,000.00
Other:
- Hydraulic repairs on Grosse Tete Bridge on LA 77 in Iberville Parish: $833,300.00
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
