DOTD provides update on US 190 resurfacing project in Beauregard Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that work on the US 190 resurfacing project in Beauregard Parish is progressing.
Crews have completed the milling and the first layer of asphalt has been laid from LA 111 to US 171. The contractor is currently installing shoulders and laying the final layer of asphalt - known as the wearing course. Upcoming work includes restriping, installing rumbles strips, and reconnecting permitted driveways. During the restriping, the center turn lane will be extended from Cardinal Street to Planer Mill Road and the westbound right turn lane at Boise Road will be lengthened. These changes will help to decrease congestion on US 190.
Intermittent lane closures continue in both directions for the entire length of the project. The lane closure location will be condensed to the current work zone and will move as the project progresses. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone by flaggers.
The $6 million project will resurface 12.5 miles of US 190 and will create a safer and more efficient roadway. Construction began in January 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2020, weather dependent.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
