**US 71: 230’ N. of Andrews St. to LA 498; Rapides Parish**
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Monday, January 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm nightly alternating lane closures will begin on US 71 (MacArthur Dr.) and the adjacent frontage roads. The lane closures will extend from the Alexandria Power Center to LA 498 (England Drive) to allow for milling and resurfacing of the roadway. The roadway will be fully open to traffic every morning by 7:00 am. The work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2019.
Permit/Detour Section There are no detours at this time associated with these lane closures. NOTE: There will be no width restrictions associated with these lane closures.
Safety Reminder All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
