Update (8/15/2025): LA 506 bridge replacement project is complete and is open to all vehicular traffic.
Update (7/1/2025): The bridge replacement on LA 506 project will be extended until Friday, August 15, 2025.
Update (5/12/2025): DOTD has an agreement in place with Gilchrist Construction Company to complete the remaining work for the bridge replacement project on LA 506. Work is expected to begin with crews on location beginning Tuesday, May 13, 2025, with an estimated completion of Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Update (12/8/2020): LA 506 in Caldwell Parish closure is extended until Friday, October 1, 2021.
(1/9/2019) LA 506 in Caldwell Parish approximately 6.4 miles west to the west of US 165 to the intersection of Hooterville Road will be closed beginning Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 7:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 17, 2021. This closure is required to allow for the scheduled removal and construction of six bridges.
