US 165-X; Jackson St. at Thorn Rd is now re-opened to all traffic.
US 165-X; Rapides Parish; Jackson St. at Thorn Rd. - Pipe Replacement

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 7:00 AM, weather permitting, construction work will begin on US 165-X (Jackson St.) at its intersection with Thorn Road in Alexandria, LA. The work will consist of repairing existing drainage structures and replacing concrete panels and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2017. US 165-X (Jackson St.) will be closed to through traffic at this location for the duration of the project.
Permit/Detour Section
Northbound Jackson St.: Traffic heading northbound on Jackson St. will be detoured right onto Thorn Rd. Traffic will then take a left onto Murray St. followed immediately by another left onto 10th St and back onto Jackson St.
Southbound Jackson St.: Traffic heading southbound on Jackson St. will be detoured right onto 10th St. which will merge onto I-49 northbound. Traffic will then take exit 86 onto US 71 southbound (MacArthur Dr.). Traffic will then take exit 70 onto LA 1 southbound (North Bolton Ave.) and will continue back onto Jackson St.
NOTE: There will be no width restrictions associated with these lane closures.
