The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, November 14th, 2016, construction will begin on LA 34 in Winn Parish. This work will begin approximately 2608 feet south of LA 1236 and proceed north bound for 2.567 miles to the Intersection of LA 126.
The intent of this project is to cold plane the existing asphalt pavement, cut cement and lime in a 12” subgrade layer, cut 12” of soil cement in the existing base, and a 2 lift overlay with Superpave Asphaltic Concrete. Associated work includes replacing cross drains, guardrail, mailboxes, and permanent thermoplastic striping.
The contractor will be required to maintain thru traffic at all times, but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, D & J Construction Co. LLC, in the amount of $1,406,727.88. The work associated with this project should take approximately 45 working days to complete.
Permit/Detour Section
Thru traffic will be maintained and there will be no detour routes for this project. Permitted loads should be restricted to 18’ widths.
