The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that Royal Street, at the intersection with LA 1 (East Side), will be closed starting Monday morning (06/06/2016) at 7:00 AM. The LADOTD contractor will be removing the islands, short turn lane and pavement on Royal Street and will be installing the base course for the shoulders on LA 1. Access to and from Royal Street on the east side of LA 1 will be closed until late evening Tuesday, June 7, 2016. This work will be dependent on weather conditions and may be moved back several days if adverse weather occurs prior to Monday’s projected start date.
The scope of work includes Grading, Lime Treatment, Cold Planing Asphaltic Pavement, SUPERPAVE Asphaltic Concrete, Drainage Structures, Sidewalks, Curb and Gutter and Related Work. This project was bid on 12/10/2014 and the contract was awarded to T.L. Construction, LLC for the amount of $3,868,450.03. There are currently 386 calendar days allowed for this project.
Permit/Detour section
No permitted loads will be affected by the projected work. Any detours for the city street closure will be placed by the City of Natchitoches as needed. LA 1 will remain open at all times.
