DOTD Announces Traffic Pattern Change for LA 30 Roundabout Project in Ascension Parish
Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10:14:02 AM
ASCENSION PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is providing an update on the ongoing project to construct three roundabouts along LA 30 at the intersections of I-10 westbound, I-10 eastbound, and St. Landry Avenue.

As part of continued construction, motorists should expect a new traffic pattern beginning Tuesday night, April 28, between I-10 and LA 3251.

The changes include the removal of the existing traffic signal at LA 30 and Tanger Boulevard/Cabela’s Parkway. Tanger Boulevard will transition to a right-in, right-out only access point. Additionally, the roundabout at Robert Wilson Road and South St. Landry Avenue will be shifted into its final configuration as construction continues.

To safely implement these changes, nightly intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts will take place beginning Tuesday, April 28 through Monday, May 4. Work will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays when traveling through the work zone and are encouraged to plan accordingly.

The project is estimated to be complete in late 2026, weather permitting.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience and reminds motorists to drive with caution, remain alert about changing traffic patterns, and watch for crews and equipment in the area.
