UPDATE - DOTD announces project to provide concrete panel repairs on section of LA 511 (W. 70th St) in Shreveport (UPDATE 5/6/2026): DOTD announces that all concrete pavement repairs are now complete as part of the ongoing project to repair a section of LA 511 (W. 70th St.) from Jewella Ave. to Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport.
Upcoming work includes the application of permanent roadway striping, which is weather dependent and not anticipated to have any major impacts to traffic (brief, intermittent lane closures only).
We appreciate the patience of the traveling public while this work was underway.
This project is made possible by the supplemental $7 million from the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund received by each DOTD District (HB 461). ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original notification - 2/11/2026:
SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $692,698 project to provide concrete panel repairs on a portion of LA 511 (W 70th Street) in Shreveport, Caddo Parish.
Construction on the project will take place from Jewella Avenue to US 171 (Mansfield Road), and is anticipated to begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Work includes the removal and replacement of damaged concrete panels along LA 511, an investment that will vastly improve the service life of the roadway and driving experience along this busy stretch of road.
Intermittent lane closures will necessary while construction is underway, in both the inside and outside lanes (though efforts will be made to alternate the lanes and directions to reduce delays to motorists).
The project is anticipated to wrap up in May 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
This project is made possible by the supplemental $7 million from the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund received by each DOTD District (HB 461).
