NIGHTTIME LANE/RAMP CLOSURE: I-20 major rehabilitation project, Bossier/Caddo Parishes

SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that as work continues to progress on the I-20 major rehabilitation project in Bossier and Caddo Parishes, an upcoming nighttime lane and ramp closure will be necessary.

Beginning on the night of Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the inside (left) lane of I-20 westbound from near the Common St/Line Ave. interchange (Exit 18D) to the I-49 interchange (17A) in Shreveport will be closed.

Additionally, the on-ramp from US 71 (Market Street) northbound to I-20 westbound will be closed. (see included map)

Both of these closures will take place from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night for one (1) month, and are necessary to allow the contractor to safely and efficiently perform concrete pavement repairs along this section of the interstate as part of the ongoing I-20 rehab project.

Alternate route: Motorists wishing to access I-20 westbound from Market Street will be detoured down LA 1 (Youree Dr) southbound to the crossover near Earnest’s Orleans Restaurant, to LA 1 (Youree Dr) northbound and back to I-20 westbound.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
